How the scanner works
- Each filter compares two values, e.g. Daily Close greater than Daily SMA(50), or checks a candlestick pattern.
- Latest / N days ago picks which bar to look at. Daily, Weekly, Monthly picks the timeframe; weekly and monthly bars are built from daily candles.
- Crossed above / below means the left side moved from below to above the right side (or the reverse) on that bar.
- The × box multiplies the right side: Close greater than Max(20, high) × 1.02 means 2% above the 20-day high.
- Use an “any of” group for OR conditions inside an all-filters scan.
- Backtest counts how many stocks matched on each trading day of the last 6 months; tap a bar to see them.
- During market hours Latest is today's still-forming candle, so patterns based on the day's range (NR7, inside bar, doji, marubozu) can change until the 3:30 pm close.
What does the "Downtrend: below 50 and 200 EMA" scan look for?
Close below the 50 and 200-day EMAs, with the 50 EMA below the 200 EMA. Filters: Daily Close less than Daily EMA(50, close); Daily Close less than Daily EMA(200, close); Daily EMA(50, close) less than Daily EMA(200, close).
How often are results updated?
Daily filters use end-of-day candles plus today's live candle during market hours (refreshed every few minutes). Weekly and monthly bars are built from daily candles.
