- A bulk deal is a trade in which one party buys or sells more than 0.5% of a company's shares in a day. Brokers must report it the same day.
- A block deal is a single large trade (₹10 crore or more) done in a special window, usually between two institutions.
- Insider trades are purchases, sales and pledges by promoters, directors and key staff, disclosed under SEBI's insider-trading rules.
Promoters buying in the open market is often read as confidence; large promoter sales or pledges as caution. Bulk deals by well-known investors can move small stocks. None of these alone tells you the stock will rise or fall.
